Signature File

If you want, Spruce can automatically attach a standard signature file to the end of each message you compose. Or you can use Spruce's "Random Signature" function.

Signature File

Spruce can automatically append a signature file to each email message you compose. Typically such sig files include your name, email address, perhaps your phone number and some clever or witty quote suggesting your high intelligence and broad interests. The first step is to create a sig file, using your favorite word processor. Save it as plain ASCII text. Anywhere will do - your home directory's a good idea.

Let's say you called it .sig. Open up the Settings->Preferences menu item to open the Spruce Configuration Options window.

The Identity panel should be open. Where it asks you for the name of the Signature File, type .sig (or whatever else you named your sig file). If you put it anywhere other than your home directory, you'll need to add the full path, not just the file name. The Browse button allows you to browse your file system in order to choose the file.

You also need to check the Automatically attach selected signature box and the Use Signature file radio button.

Click on OK to commit the changes, or Apply to commit the changes but keep the window open.
